Last March I promised the residents of Hartlepool and the surrounding areas that, if elected, I would instigate a full review into whether or not the custody suite could be reopened after the Labour PCC had forced it to close in 2019
Sadly the election didn't go ahead and that's made it impossible to do a formal review, but, I have been able to do some work on it and I can now confidently pledge that if I'm elected in May I will re-open the towns custody suite, partially within the year and fully, as soon as is possible and practical.
This will prove an enormous benefit to our hard working officers in the town as well as having a significant, positive impact on the overstretched custody unit in Middlesbrough.
